Closing Shift Roblox Characters List: Who Hunts and Who Helps

Last updated:

Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, Golden Freddy and Fredbear hunt you in Closing Shift, and the Puppet helps. Every named character and how to deal with each one.

Quick answer

Six named animatronics hunt you in Closing Shift — Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, Golden Freddy and Fredbear — and one character helps you: the Puppet at the security desk.

  • Foxy is the only hunter with a named counter: keep your light pointed at his face.
  • Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Golden Freddy and Fredbear hear you over voice chat. Say the right thing and they may let you go.
  • If you hear singing, do not leave the room you are in.

Closing Shift drops you below the elevator into a family restaurant that closed in 1974, and the mascots never stopped working. The game's own description names the entire cast you need to know down there: "Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, Golden Freddy and Fredbear hunt by their own rules," while the Puppet at the security desk is the one character you can ask for help. That split — six hunters, one helper — is the whole named roster, and telling them apart matters because the responses differ: Foxy is countered with your light, the other five listen to voice chat, and all of them can be slowed with closets, vents and barricades.

The cast at a glance

The official description lists the six mascots as one group and does not spell out each hunter's individual rules — that is the level of detail the game itself gives. What it does establish is the setting and your defenses: the restaurant sits below the elevator, and while the mascots hunt you, you can hide in closets, crawl through the vents and barricade doors, which the animatronics kick in. The traits below reflect everything the game's description and its in-game listing tell players about each character, including who listens to voice chat. The Puppet stands apart from all six as help rather than a threat.

Closing Shift characters: hunters and helper

Hunter

Freddy

Hunts by his own rules, which the description does not spell out. He can hear you over voice chat; hide in a closet or crawl through the vents when he is near. Recorded runs show him performing voice lines behind a barricaded party room door and grabbing players.

Hunter

Bonnie

Hunts by his own rules, which the description does not spell out. He can hear you over voice chat, and hiding in a closet or crawling through the vents is the standard response when he is near. One recorded run shows a player hiding in a bathroom stall to wait him out.

Hunter

Chica

Hunts by her own rules, which the description does not spell out. She can hear you over voice chat. Player clips show her luring players into the kitchen.

Hunter

Foxy

The one hunter the official description gives a specific counter for: keep your light pointed at his face.

Hunter

Golden Freddy

Hunts by his own rules, which the description does not spell out. He can hear you over voice chat.

Hunter

Fredbear

Hunts by his own rules, which the description does not spell out. He can hear you over voice chat.

Helper

The Puppet

The one character on your side. It sits at the security desk and you can ask it for help; in a recorded run, opening the gift box in the security room made the Puppet appear and offer a Q&A help menu.

The Puppet: the character that helps you

The Puppet is the helper, and the official description says so directly: "Ask the Puppet at the security desk for help, and watch the cameras." The security desk sits in the security/safe room where you land after the elevator ride down. In a recorded escape run, opening the gift box in that room makes the Puppet appear and offer a Q&A help menu, and the security terminal beside it switches between camera feeds. The cameras are more than decoration — they show what is moving through the building, and the official description even notes that the band still performs on them. Our Puppet guide goes deeper on the help menu, and the camera guide covers tracking hunters by feed.

What actually separates the six hunters

The honest answer is: less than you might hope. The official description groups all six together and gives only two character-specific cues, so here is everything that is actually established about how they differ:

  • Foxy is the only hunter with a named counter — keep your light pointed at his face. Everything else about his rules is unstated. Our Foxy guide collects what is known about him.
  • Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Golden Freddy and Fredbear each hunt by their own rules, which the description does not spell out. What they share: all five can hear you over voice chat. Say the right thing and they may let you go — the description phrases the outcome conditionally, so treat talking as a chance, not a guarantee. The voice chat guide goes deeper on what speaking does and does not guarantee.
  • The singing warning applies no matter which hunter is near: if you hear singing, do not leave the room you are in. The sources stating this rule never name which character sings, so treat the sound itself as the signal. The survival guide lists it alongside the other defensive rules.
  • Against all six, the general defenses are the same: hide in a closet or crawl through the vents when a hunter is near, and barricade doors to slow them down. Barricades are temporary — the animatronics kick them in.

That is the full extent of the character-specific detail the official material provides. If you want to go past the roster into how each hunter moves and attacks in practice, the animatronic behavior guide is the dedicated page.

Characters reported beyond the official roster

The six mascots plus the Puppet are the confirmed cast, but recorded full-escape runs and player clips show other figures you can encounter:

  • Officer Bill — a recorded run opens with the player talking to him at the front entrance before stepping into the outdoor elevator.
  • A dark rabbit animatronic — chases and attacks the player during the search for the keys.
  • Birthday Bear — delivers a jump scare behind a barricaded party room door; in the recorded run, the scare triggered when the player pulled the barricade open after hearing an unknown voice outside.
  • Vintage Freddy — delivers another jump scare later in the same run, with "CAUGHT" shown on screen.
  • An NPC in a black hat and sunglasses — approaches the player near the end of the escape.
  • Springtrap — appears at the exit ending, shouting "NO, NO, NO... STAY FOR THE PARTY!" and "I ALWAYS COME BACK." as the restaurant burns.

None of these appear in the official description's named hunter list, so they are best read as encounters observed in specific recorded runs rather than the confirmed starting roster. Short player clips also show Chica luring a player into the kitchen — consistent with her roaming the restaurant during normal play — and one clip shows a player being given a "Freddy partner," though the clip does not explain what that means.

What to do about them

Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, Golden Freddy and Fredbear hunt; the Puppet helps. Every hunter can be slowed by the same toolkit — closets, vents, barricades — while Foxy answers to your light and the other five to what you say on voice chat. Your objective never changes: find the four keys and the four-digit code to call the elevator back. Our survival guide, four keys locations and four-digit code pages cover that escape route, the beginner guide eases you into your first night, and solo vs multiplayer helps you decide whether to bring friends — the game supports playing solo or with up to 9 of them.
